Anger is a feeling or an emotion that can escalate from calmness to an intense rage.

Anger management is utilized in acquiring skills to recognize signs that a person is becoming angry, and learn how to deal with their emotions in a positive way.

I am a Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor for California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators (CAADE), CATECIII, a member of Addiction Counselor Certification Board of California (AACCBC), and a Certified Anderson & Anderson Anger Management Facilitator.  I am also an active member of a 12-Step Recovery Program.

Objectives of Class

1.  The client will be able to identify anger its cause, payoffs and consequences and be attentive of anger management.

2.  The client will identify his/her triggers that lead to anger.

3.  The client will initiate a personal anger control plan with a support group, family members, outside counseling.

4.  The client will have tools identifying cues in his body and turn toward self-regulating strategies such as meditation, deep breathing and relaxation.

5.  The client will be able to communicate and know the difference between passive, aggressive and assertive communication.

Qualifications

  • Registered member of the Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators (CAADE) and The Addiction Counselor Certification Board of California (AACCBC).
  • Certified Addictions Treatment Intern
  • Active member of a 12-Step Recovery Program.
  • 12-Step Recovery Program Sponsor.
  • 12-Step Recovery Program Panel Speaker – have coordinated and facilitated workshops on the disease of addiction at a state correctional facility.
